We're sometimes inspired by vintage lace and vintage doilies. However, they have a tendency to look a little 'grandma-y' laid out on the coffee table. This is a cool idea to freshen up granny's doilies; make them into lanterns!
Step 1: Blow up a balloon to the size you want your lantern to be.
Step 2: Brush down doilies with wall paper glue.
Step 3: Apply doily to balloon, remember to leave an opening for your light bulb.
Step 4: Hang and let dry for 24 hours.
Step 5: Pop balloon
Step 6: From there you can choose whether to put put a lighting kit into and hang it, or use it as part of a place setting and put electric candles into it.
Now you've got a lantern!
