I love wearing flowers in my hair, and even more, a whole crown full of flowers! There are DIY flower crown tutorials all over the internet, but I'm gonna show you my super easy, inexpensive way to make your own!
I made this particular crown a few weeks ago. I put it off for so long because I never had any floral wire or floral tape (two key supplies in almost every flower crown tutorial). Then I realized that not having those supplies shouldn't stop me! I didn't document the making of my first crown, so I made a mini version to give you a step by step guide:
- Hot Glue Gun
- Scissors
- An assortment of fake flowers and other foliage
- Some kind of paper bag that has the twisted paper handles (You'll need at least 2 bags!)
First, cut out the paper handles and twist them together like this:
Repeat with another pair of handles and glue two of the ends to one another. Once you know how big you need the halo to be, hot glue the other ends together.
I actually braided/twisted the handles from one pair into the second when I was closing the circle. |
I twisted them because it makes it easier to stick in the flowers and see what you like before you glue
them down.
If you have any flowers with two buds, like this, you can just stick them in without glueing them down. |
Keep glueing in flowers until you have a little bouquet.
If you haven't run out of flowers yet, like I did, keep going! Or stop here and keep it as a cute little flower bunch crown.
There are so many ways to make a beautiful flower crown, this was just how I went about it. Scour the internet, craft stores, your junk closet, and make your own! I strongly believe every girl should wear a crown of flowers in her hair on at least one beautiful day!
